Imagery and shape files are provided in a file format that is compatible with Back Paddock and PAM
software. AGRECON will be encouraging vendors to web enable their farm management software by early
2009 so that existing users can more readily access important baseline data and up to date prognoses
for improved day-to-day decision making and management of multi-peril and production risk at farm, field and site scales.
AgreLocate is provided by Agrecon as a free service representing the first step towards providing rural
landholders across Australia with a full suite of web based information services that will remove the need to:
-
Order technically demanding and often over functionalised shrink wrapped farm management software;
-
Upgrade existing farm management software with new versions;
-
Buy aerial photography or satellite imagery to use as a mapping base with your existing software;
-
Obtain a wide variety of data, often with incompatible formats, geographical projections and time
scales from a number of separate sources: including weather forecasts; climatic, production and other
biophysical records; map themes and overlays; input and commodity prices; predictions and accuracy estimates
regarding forthcoming seasonal conditions and likely production outcomes
